Plan the Bruce: Connecting

Bringing Our Communities Closer Together

Bruce County's continued success depends on being able to move people (workers, visitors, family members) goods (food, tractor parts, lumber), and information (data, websites, media) between our communities and beyond. Connecting communities has traditionally been the job of our highways and streets, with the focus on cars and trucks. Over time, we've seen larger farm machinery, more demand for walking and cycling, growth in the use of horse and buggy, and increased tourism traffic. More changes are coming, including cars that will do the driving for us.

Good planning decisions now will help us move information, goods, services and people between our communities with more ease and an eye to the future.

Project Status: In January 2022, The Plan the Bruce Connecting Discussion Paper was presented for information at Planning and Development Committee and public engagement will occur through the new Official Plan process.
