Making Healthy Communities a Priority

Healthy, sustainable communities consider and build access to services and resources like education and technology. They also build opportunities for activity and provide access to healthy food while fostering a sense of belonging, trust and inclusiveness. By planning compact communities, with places to walk and spaces for people to engage with one-another, we also generate vibrant, inclusive downtowns with street markets, festivals, art shows, and other events. Ensuring that future unfolds means we create the best possible partnerships between developers, community groups and social agencies today.

This project is now complete. Thank you for your input.

In August 2021, The Plan the Bruce Communities Discussion Paper was endorsed by the Planning and Development Committee as a foundation for developing policies for the new Official Plan.
